- Sport Makes Historic Debut in AntarcticaPickleball stars from Asia, Australia and North America will compete in a team-based format, battling not only for titles and bragging rights but also for a share of a USD $100,000 prize pool. The AO Pickleball Slam is an invitational tournament featuring 24 players, comprising 12 men and 12 women.
- Participants are selected based on current ratings, national or international rankings, and recent results across recognised pickleball tours, leagues or championships.
- The players will be divided into six teams of four - two men and two women - under the supervision of the event’s officiating team. The six teams, named after Melbourne’s iconic laneways, will be announced on 15 January 2026.
- They are Degraves, Duckboard, Guildford, Flinders, Hardware and Hosier, with Hosier entering as the 2025 defending champions.
