Norfolk native Jordan Battle scored 27 points in his final home game for ODU, and the Monarchs pulled away in the final minutes to defeat Louisiana, 83-72, Monday at Chartway Arena. AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe victory was the third in the last four games for ODU (9-18 overall, 6-9 Sun Belt), with the loss a 2-point defeat to Marshall, one of the Sun Belt’s best teams. It is the best four-game stretch for ODU this season, and comes with less than two weeks to go in the regular season. Louisiana (10-18, 6-8) had won four of its last five.“We’re getting better,” ODU head coach Mike Jones said.
