On Saturday, the Browns announced the elevations of quarterback Bailey Zappe and tight end Sal Cannella, important moves with quarterback Dillon Gabriel (left shoulder) and tight end Harold Fannin Jr. (groin) both listed as questionable for Week 17. Tight end David Njoku was also ruled out with a knee injury. Selected by the Browns with the 94th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Gabriel was named the starting quarterback ahead of Cleveland’s Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
