Former BYU linebacker Max Alford, nephew of Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford, has committed to the Wolverines through the transfer portal. Alford’s ties to the program go beyond relational, as new defensive coordinator Jay Hill was also his coordinator in Provo. That was Alford’s one and only season with the Cougars, where he rose towards the second half of the season as a rotational piece.
