File | Photo Credit: PTI Amid protests over the alleged mismanagement in paddy procurement in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said his government is making arrangements to buy the crop from farmers, as the Centre has agreed to lift eight lakh tonnes of rice. Addressing a programme in the Kalahandi district headquarters Bhawanipatna on Sunday (January 18, 2026) evening, he also launched development projects worth more than ₹891 crore to boost irrigation facilities in the drought-prone areas of the region.
