Cincinnati City Council approved the deal after its terms were outlined last week. It brings to a close years of litigation that stemmed from protests over the killing of George Floyd and other unarmed Black people. None of the 479 plaintiffs had been charged with a felony or violent offense nor been involved in any property damage — though some did occur.
