Old Dominion safety Jerome Carter has committed to the Tigers, giving Clemson another proven option on the back end of its defense. Carter put together an impressive sophomore season in 2025, earning All-Sun Belt honors after totaling 75 tackles and six interceptions, a figure that ranked among the national leaders. His production and ball skills helped him stand out during the portal process, and he arrives in Clemson with two seasons of eligibility remaining. A native of Lake City, Florida, Carter was a three-star prospect coming out of Columbia High School and held nearly 20 scholarship offers, including Indiana, West Virginia, Iowa State, and Washington State.
