AwardsThe Cameroonian Bryan Mbeumo was named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for October, with the highlight of the month certainly being his goal at Anfield against Liverpool in United’s 2-1 win. Michael Carrick was also named Manager of the Month in January after fine wins against Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two league games as interim head coach. New recognitionThe club’s official website also confirmed that three United players have received special awards for their achievements in the league. The site reports, “three Reds received Premier League awards at Carrington after training on Thursday.”It continued, “Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were all recognised with medallions for passing significant landmarks in the top-flight.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementCasemiro and Cunha both received awards for reaching 100 Premier League matches. Whilst the former’s appearances have all been in a United shirt, most of Cunha’s appearances came for his former side, Wolverhampton Wanderers. He played 82 league games for the Black Country side. Cunha’s 100th game came against Burnley in January, and Casemiro’s milestone was reached in the victory over Tottenham Hotspur in February. The site also adds that, “Mbeumo was given his prize for scoring 50 Premier League goals – a tally which was largely achieved during his spell at Brentford.”The attacker is United’s top scorer this season and reached the tally by scoring against Arsenal at the Emirates last month.
