- The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted that spells of moderate to intense rainfall are most likely to continue over Chennai and neighbouring districts till Tuesday afternoon.
- The deep depression, which is a remnant of Cyclone Ditwah, recurved slowly southwestwards with a speed of 3 kmph and weakened into a depression.
- It lies over the West-central Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, about 40 km east-southeast of Chennai.
- The minimum distance of the Centre of the depression from the North of the T. N.- Puducherry coasts is about 25 km.
- It is very likely to continue to move slowly southwestwards towards the north TN-Puducherry coasts and maintain its intensity as a depression till 5:30 p. m.
