The Cowboys are in danger of having quarterbacks coach Steve Shimko leave for a promotion with another team. Although it didn’t feel like it would impact the Cowboys when the Miami Dolphins hired former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to be their next head coach, it might wind up costing Dallas one of their most important offensive coaches. Shimko coached under Hafley when he was the head coach at Boston College, which included being his offensive coordinator in 2023.
