- Neither team made it to Arlington last season, but both North Shore and Duncanville are back in “Jerry World” with a vengeance. Duncanville enters Saturday’s game at 12-1 overall, with its lone defeat coming by a single point against Waxahachie in the Panthers’ second game.
- But the Panthers avenged that defeat to Waxahachie with a 35-27 win two weeks ago in the regional finals; then in last week’s semifinals, Duncanville dominated a previously undefeated Allen squad, 31-9. This will be the seventh time Duncanville is in the state title game.
- Along with the titles won in 2022 and again in 2023, the Panthers won in their first-ever championship game appearance, 1998. North Shore enters Saturday’s game at 13-2.
