Lonergan initially won the starting job at BC this season, was benched a few times for back-up Grayson James, but eventually won back the trust of the coaching staff by season’s end. Though it was Grayson James that led BC to its only FBS victory against Syracuse, after Lonergan went out with injury after the first drive. He showed flashes of great quarterback play throughout the season, but he was mistake-prone and couldn’t provide enough consistency to the offense.
