Eagles girls’ hockey grab two wins

They hit the ice on fire with a 4-2 win over Salmon River as Katie McCormick led the way with two goals at Scott’s Memorial Rink in Chazy. AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSophia Amaya-Gutierrez and Meegan Burdo added the other two goals for the Eagles as the duo opened with first period goals, led by Amaya-Gutierrez in the ninth minute. McCormick’s goals came in the second and third periods to put the game out of reach. Amaya Abellard earned assists on both goals. Burdo, Amaya-Gutierrez, Chloe Campbell and Avery Parker also earned assists on the day. The strong play continued into Saturday’s game at Massena. Abellard and McCormick were the leaders on the ice, scoring all goals. Abellard scored early in the first period, and the score remained that way until the third period, with McCormick adding the insurance goal. Parker and Reese Peryer recorded assists on goals in the third period.
