ECI meets CEOs of poll bound states and UT, discuss additional CRPF

• Sources reveal that Election Commission will also take stock of the Selective Intensive Revision (SIR) that happened in the state.

• As per sources, the meeting will include the CEOs of other poll bound states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the union Territory of Puducherry.
• Additional CAPF deployment has been requested this time due to the proposed reduction in the number of voting phases compared to the 2021 and 2015 Assembly elections, according to the sources.
• The 2021 Assembly elections were held in eight phases, while the 2016 polls were conducted over six phases, with the first phase split across two days.
