A new CNN report suggests the mystery surrounding Havana Syndrome may be entering a critical new phase, after the Pentagon reportedly spent more than a year testing a device believed by some investigators to be capable of causing the illness. According to four sources briefed on the matter, the device was acquired through an undercover operation and cost the US government “eight figures.”The device was purchased by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), a division of the Department of Homeland Security, using Defense Department funding in the final days of the Biden administration. While still under study, its existence has reignited internal debate across the US government over the true cause of Havana Syndrome, officially known as “anomalous health incidents” (AHIs).
