Hope Stauffer broke a Hurricanes team record in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:16.63 at Blue Mountain on Thursday, and Ethan Miller has the league’s fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.59. AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe pair competed at last season’s PIAA State Championships last when Stauffer qualified in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, and Miller swam in the 200-yard individual medley.“I love the people on the team, and everyone is so supportive,” Stauffer said. “I like the sprinting a lot more than long distance. The 200-yard individual medley is my best swim right now and the 50-yard freestyle is my favorite swim.”Stauffer is joined by her sister Cali, a senior, who was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first at Thursday’s meet with a time of 2:11.80.
