K Kavitha, Prashant Kishor huddle over launch of her party in Telangana: Sources

Political sources indicated that Kishor is likely to play a strategic role in the party’s formation and expansion, should Kavitha formally announce its launch. Kavitha, the daughter of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, was suspended from the party in September last year after accusing her cousins and senior BRS leaders, T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar, of “tarnishing” her father’s image over the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project executed during the BRS regime. Soon after her suspension, the former MLC resigned from the Telangana Legislative Council, a resignation that was accepted earlier this month by Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy.
• Since then, Kavitha has been increasingly active on public issues under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi. In recent months, she has launched sharp attacks on both the BRS and the ruling Congress, alleging corruption and irregularities.
• In December last year, Kavitha said she would one day become the Chief Minister and order probes into “injustices” committed since the formation of Telangana in 2014. Earlier this month, she escalated her criticism of the KCR-led BRS, calling the party’s constitution a “joke” and alleging corruption during its tenure.
