Story byBryan Manning, Commanders WireSat, December 6, 2025 at 8:15 AM UTC·3 min readThe Washington Commanders had high expectations when they sent multiple draft picks to the Houston Texans for five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil last March. The goal was to upgrade Washington's offense, specifically the blind side of superstar quarterback Jayden Daniels. One of the reasons Tunsil was reportedly available was because Houston didn't want to pay Tunsil again. At 30 (he turned 31 in August), Tunsil had already signed two lucrative extensions with the Texans, and with several younger players due for raises, Houston chose to move on from Tunsil.
