Shristi Bajaj clinched the Beginners Women’s Singles gold medal as she defeated Devanshi Bansal 15-11 at the Kolkata Pickleball Championship, a PWR 200 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), on January 13. In a closely contested final, Shristi outplayed Devanshi with strong court control, sharp shot placement and quick rallies to seal the title. Earlier, she defeated Subhashini Lohia 11-7 in the semifinals to reach the final. Devanshi, who enjoyed an impressive run to the final, had earlier dominated her semifinal, defeating Ayshwarya Pai 11-3 in a one-sided contest. However, she was not able to replicate that performance in the final, where Shristi maintained the upper hand throughout the match, leaving Devanshi to settle for the silver medal.
