Matt Prater has made 51 of 56 kicks this season combining field goals and extra points. Everyone, including Prater, figured that Bass would return to claim the job he has held the previous five seasons, but it never came to be and Sean McDermott announced on Monday that Bass underwent season-ending surgery last week, so the 41-year-old Prater - who has been a solid replacement - has the job the rest of the year.“He was dealing with it, it wasn’t going away and we thought it was going away, then it wasn’t going away as he tried to get himself back ready,” McDermott said of Bass.
