Minecraft players across the United States and several other parts of the world faced serious problems on Saturday after the game’s servers went down twice within a 24-hour period. The outage affected Minecraft Realms, making it difficult or impossible for many users to log in, join servers, or load their worlds. Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages based on user reports, first alerted players when it tweeted that “user reports indicate problems with Minecraft since 2:22 PM EST.” Just hours later, DownDetector posted another update saying, “reports indicate problems with Minecraft since 11:46 AM EST,” confirming a second disruption in a short time. What Players SaidAccording to thousands of user reports on Downdetector and social media, players experienced a wide range of issues during the outage. Many said they were unable to sign into their Minecraft accounts at all.
