They held the South Point Pointers’ boys basketball program to 26 points through the first three quarters of action, but a 13-0 run to begin the fourth quarter forced Minford to settle for a 49-37 defeat in a competitive nonconference matchup Tuesday evening at South Point High School in South Point. First-year head coach Todd Perdas — himself a former collegiate coach with nearly two decades of experience at various stops at high schools and colleges in both the boys/girls and men’s/women’s game, was dejected by the result of the loss, but not so regarding his team’s effort, which he characterized as high-energy and all-out.
