Easwar argued before the court that he did not make any 'sexually coloured remarks' against the victim, stating there was no material in the police records to show such remarks. However, the prosecution stated that relevant YouTube videos were recovered and submitted as evidence. The prosecution informed the court that digital evidence was being preserved and a separate Mahazar was being prepared in relation to the digital content allegedly posted by Easwar. The case against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, from Palakkad, intensified after audio clips and messages surfaced online. The complainant had submitted a formal complaint to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, leading to the registration of a rape case and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Mamkootathil was suspended from the Congress party in August following several complaints. The Congress has been unsettled by the accusations.
