McLaren, which is based in the Surrey town, secured the drivers' and constructors' double this year - its first since 1998. Mr Forster said he remembered Mika Hakkinen driving around the town in a Formula 1 car when he won the 1998 championship, but McLaren have now confirmed that will not be the case this time around. In December, Woking Borough Council leader Ann‑Marie Barker wrote to McLaren's CEO Zak Brown to congratulate the team..
