Story byCurtis FlannerySat, January 17, 2026 at 2:43 AM UTC·2 min readOn Friday night, the BC men’s hockey team got started on their second semester by facing off against the Providence Friars at Conte Forum. The two teams came into the game as the #1 and #2 NPI teams in Hockey East, fighting for very real potential NCAA tournament consequences. After a disastrous start that saw two ugly BC turnovers turn into PC goals, the Eagles brought the game back into a 3-3 tie in the third period before eventually giving up another turnover score to lose in overtime. Boston College came out of the gate with a lot of puck control, rarely letting Providence establish themselves in the BC zone.
