Stallings played at Brentwood Academy and is the son of former Vanderbilt basketball coach Kevin Stallings. AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementStallings told reporter Jason Mackey that details about his job are being worked out, but he expects to work with the club's minor league affiliates, specificaly helping to develop catchers. Stallings led Brentwood Academy to the 2008 TSSAA Division II-AA state title as a senior. He also played basketball at Brentwood Academy before signing to play baseball at North Carolina. The Tar Hills lost to Vanderbilt 5-1, while Kevin Stallings was still the Commodores' basketball coach, in the 2011 College World Series. Stallings was selected by Pittsburgh in the seventh round of the 2012 MLB draft.
