At the UCLA Health Training Center, the Lakers were red-hot offensively early. They scored 41 points in the first quarter and held the lead for most of the first half en route to a 76-68 halftime lead. But afterward, South Bay went into a drought and got caught up in a dogfight. Power forward Drew Timme led South Bay with 27 points on 11-of-18 field-goal shooting, to go along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
