A year after losing in heartbreaking fashion to Calallen in the state semifinals, Spring Hill beat Wimberley to capture their first-ever state title. The Panthers went 35-7 on the season, winning their final five games after dropping game one of their regional final series against Carthage, to make history on the diamond. Spring Hill head baseball coach Garrett Methvin, who starred for the Panthers back in high school, and his players said they’ll never forget their state championship season and it’s special to join in celebrating their state title run on the diamond. God’s been good to us and it’s special to see all the guys coming back and everybody, the community turning out and showing up and getting together. That just kinda speaks volumes to what this community is and what it means to the community to do this.
