Key Highlights
- During the inspection, DCA officials found 39 varieties of medicines stocked at the clinic without a valid drug licence.
- Of these, 35 varieties were physician’s samples, including antibiotics, analgesics and anti-ulcer drugs.
- The total value of the seized stock was estimated at ₹15,011.
- The officials also detected several antibiotics such as Cefixime, Ofloxacin, Cloxacillin, Amoxycillin and Azithromycin at the premises.
- The DCA cautioned that the indiscriminate sale and use of antibiotics by unqualified persons could have serious public health consequences, including the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance.
