A week before the first ATP Masters 1000 competition of the season, Nick Kyrgios, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Casper Ruud, Gael Monfils, Alexander Bublik, Joao Fonseca, and Lorenzo Musetti will do battle in the Silver State. While just an exhibition, there will be a sizeable prize money pool up for grabs for the eight players. Kyrgios is set to face Alexander Bublik, while American compatriots Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz will go toe-to-toe. Lorenzo Musetti will take on Casper Ruud, but perhaps the most exciting matchup of the bunch is Joao Fonseca versus Gael Monfils. Photo by Fiona Goodall/Getty ImagesTaylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti excited for the MGM SlamAs per the Las Vegas Review Journal, Musetti said of event: “I think it’s a really cool format with eight top players, the opportunity to play in Vegas, which is probably the most known city for, for shows, for entertainment.“I think that’s a really great combination to what people want to see in a tennis exhibition.”Fritz added: “It’s awesome to do an event there that’s fast-paced and exciting.”After their appearance in Vegas, many of the featuring players will head straight to California for the Indian Wells Open.
