Vande Mataram@150: Dombivli creates Bharat Mata mosaic with record 2.5 lakh lamps

• The historic installation was unveiled in Dombivli in Thane district to mark the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram. The initiative was led by a Dombivli-based cultural group under the guidance of state BJP chief Ravindra Chavan.

• He explained that the idea behind creating this world-record mosaic was to offer a unique and meaningful tribute to Bharat Mata on the landmark anniversary of Vande Mataram.
• Standing approximately 95 feet tall and 75 feet wide, the stunning mosaic has been crafted entirely from colourful earthen lamps.
• The artwork was brought to life through the tireless efforts of a dedicated team of artists, including renowned father-son duo Chetan Raut, Prabhu Kapse and Vaibhav Kapse, who worked day and night for nine consecutive days to meticulously colour and arrange the lamps. The towering image of Bharat Mata has emerged as a powerful symbol of Sanatana culture, artistic excellence and patriotic spirit.
