Voter registration and revision camps open across Chennai on January 11

Key Highlights

• The draft electoral roll for Chennai district was published on December 19, 2025.
• Citizens were allowed to file claims and objections between December 19, 2025, and January 18, 2026, enabling eligible voters to apply for inclusion, correction, or deletion of names in the electoral roll.
• To facilitate easy voter access, special registration camps were earlier organised at all polling stations on December 27 to 28, 2025, and January 3 to 4, 2026, recording significant public participation.
• The initiative continued on Saturday and has now been extended to Sunday, January 11.
• The Greater Chennai Corporation has urged citizens to take advantage of the camps, especially those whose names are missing from the draft roll and individuals who have recently turned 18 and are eligible to vote.
