The Caller-Times is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Tuesday. AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementStudents in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks. Ray's Huzefa Ullah scorched the nets by scoring 32 points against Harlingen South and 30 points agains Wimberley, while Augustus Hayes from Aransas Pass poured in 38 against Rockport-Fulton. On the football field, Ray Lewis helped Refugio rally and roll past No. 2 and defending state champion Ganado with 180 yards and three touchdowns rushing, 97 yards and one touchdown passing and a 74-yard kickoff return TD. The poll will close Thursday and the winners will be announced Friday each week. Nominations are due by 5 p. m. Apple Dental Center High School Athlete of the WeekThis Week's Finalists• Traey Alvarado, Rockport-Fulton football — Alvarado had 12 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns against Cuero.• Augustus Hayes, Aransas Pass boys basketball — Hayes dropped 38 points against Rockport-Fulton, including five 3-pointers.• Zya Jennings, Veterans Memorial girls basketball — Jenning scored 18 points in a three-point win against London.• Ray Lewis, Refugio football — Lewis had 16 carries for 180 yards and three touchdowns rushing and was 6 of 9 passing for 97 yards and one touchdown passing, adding a 74-yard kickoff return TD.
