Yemeni leader appoints former foreign minister as Prime Minister

Salem bin Breik has been appointed adviser on financial and economic affairs, the Saba news agency reported on Thursday. Last week, Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced the dissolution of the organization and all its structures, following a period of heightened tensions after STC forces seized the eastern provinces of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra in November 2025, triggering a firm response from the PLC and Saudi Arabia.
