The 2026 PPA Tour witnessed a standout moment in the mixed doubles Round of 16 match at the Carvana Masters on January 15 at Mission Hills Country Club in California, US, as eighth seeded Kate Fahey and Federico Staksrud edged past 18th seeded Rachel Rohrabacher and Will Howells in a gruelling match, winning the clash 4-11, 12–10, 14–12. The match marked Will Howell’s first tournament appearance since signing with the PPA Tour. From the opening exchanges, both pairs brought intensity, long rallies and sharp kitchen-line battles in front of a crowded centre court. Rohrabacher and Howells won the opening game 11-4, putting constant pressure on their higher-seeded opponents. Fahey and Staksrud made a comeback, strengthening their play in key moments to level the match with a narrow 12-10 win.
