Key Highlights
- To address drainage issues in the Kirari, Mundka, Bawana and Nangloi Assembly constituencies of West Delhi, a 4.5 kilometre long trunk drain is proposed to be constructed parallel to the railway line.
- The project is being implemented by the Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
- The estimated cost of the drain is Rs.
- 220.93 crore, and it has been designed to handle rainwater from a large catchment area of 1,520 acres.
- The discharge capacity of the drain has been fixed at 760 cusecs to ensure uninterrupted drainage even during peak monsoon rainfall.
