The last FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough was played in 1997, a replay between Middlesbrough and Chesterfield after they drew 3-3 at Old Trafford. Replays and neutral games at anywhere other Wembley are now a thing of the past, as, sadly, are Sheffield Wednesday as a force in English football. With new ownership the truly dark times are hopefully behind this grand old club but they are still on the bottom end of the dip. Brentford actually made it to Wembley in 1997, where they lost the Division Two playoff final to Crewe Alexandra.
