The Hurricanes paid tribute to the retired coach on Tuesday night before their Atlantic Coast Conference game against Florida State, unveiling a banner in celebration of Larrañaga during a pregame ceremony. Larrañaga unexpectedly retired in December 2024 to end a 14-year run as coach of the Hurricanes and a 41-year college head coaching career that saw him win 744 games at Miami, American International, George Mason and Bowling Green.
