New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) A day after assuming office, BJP’s newly elected national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday reviewed poll preparations for West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry, in the first central office bearers meeting chaired by him at the headquarters in New Delhi. BJP sources said that the party chef especially reviewed the poll preparedness for West Bengal, where the party wants to “push up its victory margins in constituencies where it had tasted success in 2021 and also claim marginal constituencies where they lost by narrow margins.” Back in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly polls, the BJP in an alliance with AJSU contested 293 seats and managed to wrest a 38.15 per cent votes and created history by winning 77 assembly seats for the first time, becoming the second largest party and the official opposition. Sources said it feels the TMC government has been cornered by issues of law and order and corruption and the BJP had a good chance to gain focus of the electorate which is seeking more development work and economic growth.
