For women, it will now be an easy way to get screened for cervical cancer. According to the US health officials, self-collected vaginal samples can now be used to screen for cervical cancer, and most private insurance plans will be required to cover the testing without charging patients out of pocket. The guidance, which comes from the Health Resources and Services Administration, a part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, says the new rules expand the screening options for cervical cancer and aim to remove high costs that prevent most women from testing.
